24th Annual Oyster Festival Sponsored by David Lerner Associates
Syosset, NY, September 12, 2007 -- David Lerner Associates, the Syosset-based investment firm, will again sponsor The 24th Annual Oyster Festival, October 13th – 14th. The festival is located at the Oyster Bay Waterfront and Downtown and features a mixture of activities and old favorites certain to entertain the entire family.
About the Oyster Festival
Theodore Roosevelt, Oyster Bay’s most famous son, is the inspiration behind the Oyster Festival. A parade held to celebrate his 125th birthday 24 years ago aroused so much enthusiasm the organizers vowed to make it an annual event. Renamed in honor of the bivalve that President Roosevelt so loved to devour, the event took on the culinary theme it maintains today.
One of the East Coast’s largest waterfront festivals and a key fund-raising event for local charities, the 24th edition of the Oyster Festival mixes music, artisan crafters, antiques, tall ships, thrill rides and of course, the freshest seafood. The festival has helped generate over $2.4 million for local humanitarian and non-profit organizations throughout its history.
