David Lerner Associates: National Healthcare Decision Day

April 16th was National Healthcare Decision Day. While most people don't always like to talk about what would happen if they were hospitalized and unable to speak for themselves, we're glad this day exists because it brings awareness to the importance of planning for the future.

A living will or an estate plan sets you up so you have one less worry in your life. There are certainly decisions that are important not only to your healthcare, but also to the well-being of your family and your own peace of mind.

Other decisions to consider:

Long-Term Care Insurance

What would happen if you were unable to take care of yourself after an accident or an illness that left you in need of long-term care? Most insurances don’t cover long-term care. That’s where this insurance comes in.

Life Insurance

Life insurance pays out a sum of money either on the death of the insured person or after a set period.

Disability Income Insurance

This is an insurance product that provides supplementary income in the event of an illness or accident, resulting in a disability that prevents the insured from working at their regular employment.

Protecting your family and preserving your lifestyle are most likely things that are important to you. Evaluating current and future insurance needs is always a good idea.
