David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run
David Lerner Associates, a privately-held securities broker dealer headquartered in Syosset, New York, recently announced that more than 430 runners participated in the 26th Annual David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run. The event was held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York, and all proceeds went toward the Police Crisis Fund, which provides assistance to Long Island law enforcement officers and their families dealing with emergency situations.
“The David Lerner Associates Police Appreciation Run is a charity event we are proud to organize every year. It raises funds that provide incredible value for our local police officers and their families when they need it most, and we are thrilled about the tremendous community support we received this year,” said John Dempsey, president of David Lerner Associates. “Long Island’s police departments offer an invaluable benefit to our communities and, as a company headquartered on Long Island, we are committed to assisting them in any way we can. We are excited to build on the success of this year’s event and continue aiding police officers and their families in need for years to come.”
David Lerner Associates has organized the event, along with the Greater Long Island Running Club, since its inception in 1991 and has raised more than $350,000. In addition to raising funds that aid police officers and their families, Branch Manager Anthony Meere and Assistant Branch Manager Alexander Barnych, who is also a former police detective involved in the Police Crisis Fund, presented awards to runners in various categories. The winners of this year’s race were Ryan Heskin of Floral Park and Shari Klarfeld of Plainview. Ms. Klarfeld was awarded the Susan Lipsig Memorial Award for coming in first place in the women’s division.
