On Nov. 19, David Lerner Associates and The Greater Long Island Running Club and presented Suzanne Hyland a $5,000 check on behalf of her husband, Michael Hyland, a police officer for the Nassau County Police Department.
David Lerner Associates President and CEO Marty Walcoe, Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder and Alan Baisch, President of Greater Running Club Long Island attended in support as well as many Nassau County police officers at the offices of David Lerner Associates.
Serving more than 20 years in the NCPD, Hyland has led with courage, compassion, and dedication.
On Oct. 6, Officer Hyland was escorting a funeral procession in Lindenhurst when a truck hit his motorcycle. He spent eight days on life support and almost a month in the ICU, with injuries from head to toe – including a punctured lung, broken bones, and a spine that separated from his skull.
After spending 31 days in Stony Brook Hospital, he has moved to St. Charles Rehabilitation. A father of two, Officer Hyland continues to show an unwavering resilience and strength through his recovery.
“We are honored to help out Michael Hyland and his family as they go through this devastating time. His dedication to protecting Long Island is a model of service and selflessness,” says Marty Walcoe, President and CEO of David Lerner Associates.
“We wanted to do our part in showing our appreciation and support to him as he recovers.”
David Lerner Associates, Inc. and The Greater Long Island Running Club have been joining forces for over 34 years to support the Nassau and Suffolk Police Departments.
