Best Colleges for You in 2019

If you are trying to work out what the best college in the U.S. is for you, it will depend on what type of college you want and what you want to get out of going there. If you want to take a look at the top-ranked college overall in the United States, then Harvard is the gold standard.  Harvard University is once again considered number one in the nation for a second consecutive year, according to [2] the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings. MIT came in second and Yale third, while California based CalTech and Stanford were at fifth and sixth places respectively.

You have to shell out a lot of cash if you want to attend one of these colleges. Harvard will cost you $47,074 in tuition and fees, and if you need room and board, it’s a further $15,951 a year. That’s a grand total of $63,025 for the year!

Where you end up going to college will affect the rest of your life, so it’s important to figure out what you really want out of going to one. If you want to make sure you have a good shot at getting a job when you leave, it might be a good idea to search which colleges have high job placement rates.  For instance, while Harvard is rated the best college in the nation, the highest job placement rate for a college in the state isn’t from there—it’s from Endicott College, a school in Beverly, near Salem. Endicott has a job placement rate of more than 95 percent 10 years after graduation.  Endicott College’s tuition is far cheaper than Harvard at $31,454, and if you want room and board, it’s another $14,900.

Working out what college is best for you is not easy but it’s important. Rather than just going for a big name, it might be better to seek out one that can help you get a job in the field you want to work in. It all depends on your goals. Planning the rest of your life isn’t easy, but it is something that has to be done. If you don’t start planning early, life could end up taking a different path to the one you were hoping for. Knowing what you want out of life is also key. That way you can decide what college is best for you, and work towards achieving your goals.
